A Perfect Setting
You really couldn’t find a more perfect setting to enjoy fresh fish!  It’s right on the coast of Liopetri, earning its excellent reputation by consistently assuring the freshness of the delicious food they serve, and btw, the friendly, professional manner in which they welcome all their customers.

5 Decades
Established over 50 years ago, the experience shows through as the third generation is following in the footsteps of their parents and before that, their grandfather Nicolas, who opened this delightful beachside fish tavern in Potamos so that all the other local fishermen could enjoy their day’s catch, and btw, they still do … and that sort of says it all …

The Ambience
It’s a picturesque setting, with the restaurant literally on the riverbank, overlooking the moorings and fishing shelter, on the mouth of the Liopetri River aka ‘Potamos’, with stunning views stretching all the way to Cape Greko.  Inside, comfortable seating, the fresh fish displays, old photos on walls, traditional taverna style, and outside on the terrace with decking, where their two fishing boats are docked, seating for around 150 diners, lined with umbrellas for a little shade, and with the sea just a few metres away.

Family Restaurant
It’s a great place for all the families who want to get away from the maddening crowds and dine a little more traditionally, tbh, the ambience is just like you’re back in old Cyprus, enjoying your seafood at an authentic Cypriot Fish restaurant.

Starters
They offer a great choice of hot and cold starters including homemade dips, amazing Marinated Sardines, just delicious, and so too the Octopus Bites in white vinegar, or if you can’t choose, go for the Platter of cold starters.  If you prefer something hot, Grilled Halloumi, or my fav, the Feta Saganaki drizzled in honey, hmm and Prawn or Mussels Saganaki, mmm! it’s so hard to decide because one of their specialities, is their Fish Soup, a recipe created by their granny and delicious in the summer and even better on those chilly coastal winter evenings.

Salads
From your traditional Village Salad to the Salmon Salad or an absolutely amazing Seafood Salad, a mix of seafood blended into a salad as fresh as they come, grown on the family’s farm, so you can’t get it any fresher, but tbh, whatever you choose I know you’ll love it!

Fish and Seafood
There’s such a varied menu, everything from fresh local baby shrimp, and unmissable Fresh Mussels to Kourkounes aka Dusty Spinefoot, and Red Mullet, Skaros, Fagkri, Red Snapper, Sorkos aka White Bream, Orfos, and Lithrini which you can order by the kilo … try the fresh Grilled Cuttlefish, the Grilled Octopus, Grilled Sea Bream or my absolute fav the shallow fried Baby Crab, with a squeeze of fresh lemon, so delicious and Moorish! or for only €15.90 enjoy a selection of mixed fried fish or better still, for €19.50 the Fisherman’s Platter with a cool mini meze style selection of Fresh Fish and Seafood to savour, omg, and their baby calamari is to die for!

Pasta
The family’s speciality is the amazing fresh Lobster Pasta which at only €75 for two people, is just unbeatable and needs to be ordered a day in advance, btw it’s worth every cent!

Grills
If you don’t fancy fish or seafood, they also have a great choice of Grills, Pork or Lamb Chops, Chicken Fillet and regular seasonal, traditional dishes.

Something Different
If you prefer something a little different, not on their menu, all you have to do is call a few days in advance and if anyone can find it, this family can …

Snacks
I often go for a stroll along the wonderful coastline and fishing shelter and if I fancy a little snack with a coffee or a glass of wine or fresh homemade lemonade, they offer a selection of finger nibbles and delicious homemade desserts and pastries and the Ouzo Meze, a bit naughty, but nice 😉

Desserts
On that note, we all deserve a treat from time to time and Potamos Fish Restaurant serves up Platters of Seasonal Fruits, and some delicious homemade desserts, Galaktoboureko, Baklavas, and Apple Pie with Ice Cream, or Lava Cake with Ice cream or if you want to try something different and traditional, they serve homemade Cyprus Sweets, the Machalepi with Rose Ice Cream and Rose Water offering an unusual texture and taste but is absolutely amazing, and one of my favs the Pannacotta with homemade strawberry sauce! or you really must try their unique Halva with Rosewater, you won’t find this anywhere else!

Drinks
They have a large selection of Whiskies, Spirits, Aperitifs, Brandies, Beers, Champaigns, soft drinks, milkshakes and hot drinks or enjoy a nice glass or two of wine with your meal as you sit back and relax taking in the amazing views, their cava, is a great choice of Cypriot wines, expertly selected to complement their menu, from Kyperounda, Vasilikon, Chrysohoriatissa, Tsiakkas, Zambartas, and Vlassides Wineries and the list goes on!

Too much to mention
