What's On Cyprus

I recently accidentally discovered 'Nai Coffee' on the road from Dherynia to Sotira.  The building is the stunning, old 'Kalograia Taverna', the barn-style staggered apex roof, striking and unusual.  It was the Illy Coffee sign that initially grabbed my attention, and I fancied a coffee, so my curiosity getting the better of me, I just had to pop in ...

By rule of thumb if its quiet in here, it'll be dead everywhere else! ... Gary's Bar & Grill is without doubt one of the best eateries in Napa, recently, yet again, awarded a Certificate of Excellence 2020 by Trip Advisor, it's becoming a habit and tbh, they deserve every accolade they get! ... Evi continued; "It all started back in 1912, when Wilbur Scoville charted the comparative heat of different chillis.  The greater the number of Scouville units the hotter the chilli, but don't worry, we have 8 Different Flavours of Piri Piri sauces, from Zesty Lemon and Herb to Extreme with everything in between!"  Piri Piri of course means Pepper Pepper, my favourites are the Hot & Spicy and the Jerk Chicken, OMG!

I love what they've done to this place from the décor to the menu, to the relaxed ambience and attenuative service, with sea views to die for, by day or by night!  I've definitely be put them on one of my top places to eat, drink and relax, even if it's just for a coffee with apple tart or just a cocktail.

Pete told me he imports the best Cod from the North Atlantic, cuts it himself into 340 gsm portions, dipped into his mums secret recipe home made batter, which he said "I cant tell you the secret coz I'd have to kill you" hmm, and then fries it fresh to order using the finest vegetable palm oil, he says; "because I think it gives my cod the best flavour" ...

Cape Bar is a family bar with a friendly family atmosphere ...it's situated near Cyclops Caves, on the edge of the National Park at Konnos Bay, Cape Greco.  It's one of my favourite areas in Cyprus, this is a great place to watch the beautiful sunset.

Over a delicious coffee, and my little chat with head Chef and partner Maria, it became blatantly obvious why this restaurant has won the 'Best Fish Restaurant' in the 'Time Out' and 'Check In Cyprus' Eating Out Awards three times in the past decade ... Probably because Maria has this uncanny knack to recognise flavours that complement each other ... Seriously, this lady is on another level !!!

Just up on the top road in Protaras is this awesome sports bar ... 3 full size snooker tables and 3 pool tables, 2...

An evening of Live Salsa Music, ... to, Eat Drink and dance your hearts out !

Taking over the aptly named Din Dins, in June 2018, Glen, Debbie and Sharon had some really cool plans, and it's obvious they got it right, from the start!  Opening this family bar and restaurant, with comfy seating, both outside on the covered decking, edged with potted plants or inside, where you'll immediately notice a really friendly atmosphere, so the idea is, there's no rush if you're eating, and if you're not hungry you can just chill with a drink and soak up the atmosphere, quite unique, and on that note, the impulse banter between this crew in full flow is just awesome ...
