Tssssss! Now normally, when it gets this hot we just go for a swim in the sea, but in August even that doesn't work coz the sea is more like a tepid bath.  So, I’ll let you into a little secret, my absolute favourite thing to do in August is to stand under one of our waterfalls in the Troodos mountains, mmm, even in August it’s ice cold!

I love July, it’s really my favourite month, partly coz it’s my birthday on the 27th and that means I've made it another year and I’ll be throwing a party and of course, it's peak season with temperatures in the shade in the high ’30s and it’s getting hotter by the day … “bring it on”, we say, we love it hot, that's why we live here ... Mmm, Don’t you just love Cyprus?

You may have noticed, that I love Cyprus with a passion and I’ve always said; “Cyprus is versatility to the extreme!”  How extreme? I hear you shout; well, where else you can ski in the Troodos Mountains in the morning, and in under an hour you can be swimming in the Med, which btw never drops below 15°C ... Here's a quick look at What's On in Cyprus this month ...

It might sound crazy, but by the end of December, in the morning you can go skiing or even Husky Sledding in the Troodos Mountains, and just over an hour later you can swim in The Mediterranean Sea and that’s just one of the reasons why I think this place is paradise!  And remember Cypriots live for the table, so be warned, in the festive season you’ll probably put on a few kilos!

I just had a call from Nicholas @ The Old Village Tavern.  It's Live Greek Bouzouki Night every Friday and Saturday to accompany your authentic Cypriot cuisine cooked by the world-famous Head Chef 'Mike' who btw, has an international flair for cooking ... while out front, Nicholas and the crew provide traditional Cypriot hospitality to the extreme.

Tatiana continued ... "It wasn't long before Pantelis decided to make his hobby a business", and as we all know this guy is a perfectionist.  In 2012, he launched Luxury Time Charters, and year by year the fleet grew, adding another five Yachts up 'til 2022.  By then, an array of tour operators and booking agents were actively seeing our company as being unique in Cyprus" ... I must say; 'I have to agree'!

Every year we think it rained more and it's colder than last year, but I'm sure this year it did and it was. OMG How cold???  But you'd better not blink or you’ll miss spring, that’s the last two weeks of February, when the blossoms are out, floral aromas everywhere and everything is sooooo green … I just love it!

It's Definitely Summer I love June, coz it's really summer, scorching temperatures will go up to the mid 30°C in the shade, that's 100°F+, making it a perfect climate to get a tan, you can go out in shorts and a T-shirt at night, the quilts are off the bed, and we're sleeping under a sheet, everything moves outdoors, but the butter is back in the fridge, the cold water isn't cold enough and it's obviously summer coz the Cypriots are finally swimming in the sea ...

You can tell that spring is in the air, the blossoms are out, the fragrances delightful, and everything is still sooo green, but whatever you do, don't blink coz you'll miss it as on those warm sunny days in February we'll be enjoying temperatures reaching up to 28C allowing us to top up the tan and even swim in the sea ... a few more blinks and it'll be summer ... hurry up, I want my flipflops back!

January is my favourite month, hmm, mainly because it's a fresh, new year, for us all.  It's also the first month of a two-month winter in Cyprus when sunny days will still probably exceed rainy days, we hope by far.  It's still shorts & teeshirt weather, normally around 18°C by day, and long sleeves after the sun sets, and don't you just love a nice open fire, in many of our restaurants and bars! ...
