November 2022
It’s November, my favourite month, mainly coz the long hot summer is definitely over, or is it? coz we predicted we're gonna have another Indian Summer, with temperatures expected as high as 28°C this month it looks like we were right. So, you’ll still be able to wear shorts and tee-shirt by day, and even chill around the pool or pop down to the beach to top up the tan for Christmas, did I just say Christmas? omg! …
October 2022
It’s Autumn, so it’s a bit chilly swimming in the pool in the morning, but it's still warm enough to swim in the sea, sunny enough to get a tan, warm enough to wear shorts and a t-shirt all day and maybe you'll have to put on long sleeves by night, but I don’t think we’ll need a quilt on the bed 'til November
August 2022
It’s probably gonna hit well over 50°C in the direct sun, so for those of us working its horrible! Imagine Nicosia at lunchtime, not a good idea, and that’s why the majority of the residents of Nicosia are on the coast. Just watch, as sophisticated, cosmopolitan, trendy, Nicosia spills down to the coast and mixes with the pure party crew, the result inevitably is electric!, which btw, is why August might secretly be my favourite month.
July 2022
It’s definitely time to get down to the beach or next to a pool to get that lovely tan, but please be careful, the sun in Cyprus is very strong, burn time is about 20 minutes, so slap on the Factor 50, which I call ‘a bandage’ and it’s probably going to be sunny tomorrow so there’s no rush.
June 2022
We've finally relaxed on all those crazy restrictions especially the one stopping us seeing people smiling, coz that what we do in Cyprus all summer … I love to see it because its so infections … A bit like this country … fortunately, most places are open except a few stragglers waiting for it to get busier, much as I'm led believe the whole of Europe can't wait to pack their bags for the first time in 3 years.
May 2022
There's opening parties everywhere as more and more bars and pubs, restaurants and cafes along the coast gear for the summer season, following the little surge we had over Easter holidays, normally followed by a quieter 2 weeks and then it'll get busier everywhere! We'll keep you updated on our Facebook page
April 2022
We'll finish off the month with Orthodox Easter Good Friday falling on the 22nd, Easter Sunday on 24th and Easter Monday on 25th, followed by an extra bank holiday on the Tuesday 26th aka Megali Triti or Big Tuesday because Easter is the biggest celebration on the Orthodox calendar and I'm expecting the locals to celebrate bigger and better than the last two years, so if you've never experienced Easter in Cyprus put it on your tick list ...
March 2022
By the time all the Welsh and their very able assistants have recovered from those parties we’ll be into our annual carnival season, starting on Friday 4th March, much as we’re not allowed to have carnival parades again this year, we are allowed to drink at the bars and maybe dance on them too, so many bars, restaurants and clubs will celebrate by throwing a carnival party or two anyway ... so stay tuned here.
January 2022
As many of you know I love Cyprus with a passion and I've always said; "Cyprus is versatility to the extreme!" How extreme? well, tell me where else you can ski in the Troodos mountains in the morning and just over 45 minutes later you can be swimming in the med? Come to think of it; why not do it the other way around, then you can get into some 'Après Ski' chilling out next to a lovely open log fire, in a gorgeous log cabin, in the Troodos Mountains and then you can do it the other way around the next day!
December 2021
I also love December coz we get all those lovely sunsets, without heat haze, just stunning to say the least and on some days those invigorating walks along costal paths on stormy days, and the spray from the white horses, refreshing your smile. Meanwhile the aura of the Mediterranean is a natural source of Iodine, really good for the immune system btw
