My initial interest was to find out about their gins, Aris explained, "it's what originally brought us back to Cyprus, 'to create a quality craft gin'.  Our initial inspiration was the aroma of The Troodos Mountains after a long dry summer when it first rains and we wanted to capture exactly that and put it in a bottle and we called it Aoratas Dry Gin which in fact last year won a gold medal.

Vangelis said he had extensive training in Naples, not at collage but at an academy at a traditional pizzeria, with top pizza chefs.  The rewards; pizzas as authentic as you can get this side of Italy, the dough, 4 simple ingredients, hand made, but fermented for 48 Hours before use, a Neapolitan influence, which enhances the flavour, then topped with your favourite toppings and baked to perfection in a traditional stone fired revolving oven ... the result a thin base with a light fluffy crust ... I have to say they're delicious!

Pretty much every Friday and definitely every Saturday, and the day before a bank holiday they host live Rock gigs with big name international bands and the very best local Greek and English Rock Bands ... they even squeeze in a little Rhythm and Blues, Indie, Folk, and the occasional Reggae and Disco night too ... I've even caught them doing The Candy up on stage ... adding a bit of live comedy these days ... You'll love it here !

I was delighted to be invited to find out more about this exceptional, luxury chocolate manufacturing company.  Established in 1990 by Constantinos' father Stavros.  Their story is almost as lovely as their chocolate tastes ... omg!  Constantinos made me very welcome as we talked about how it all started ...

Andreas installs probably the best sound, light and automation equipment money can buy and to say he's a perfectionist is an understatement ... btw, you've probably been listening to his sound equipment and looking admiringly at his architectural lighting designs without even realising it!  Because, his work is evident in many restaurants, bars, cafes, hotels,  nightclubs, retail outlets, boat cruises and private homes from Paralimni to Paphos and everywhere in between ... Celia told me; "I met Dominik a few years ago, because we're members of the same band, btw, an award winning band, called 'The Cover Up"... she continued, "I still get scared of the stage but I just go into an 'act' and tbh, working with Dominik helps loads".  "We're the best of friends and we just bounce off each other adding a little entertainment value!

Lithos Rock Band have been part of the rock scene in Protaras for over 12 years, these day's they're booked 7 nights a week at the excellent Q Bar in Protaras!  What I really like about them is you don't really know what they are going play each night, coz that depends on the audience ... with some 400 to 500 tracks on their play list, they don't even plan what they're going to play next ... one thing's for sure you'll get a professional show from a group who can play so well together and btw, they can all sing too!

To be honest if you'd asked me if I'd ever move to Cyprus in 1992 I'd have laughed at you but we stopped looking for excuses and decided to give it a go, moved in '93 and never looked back ... We now live in a country with one of the best climates in the world, long hot summers, short mild winters.  I believe it's the safest place with under 2 million population.  The Cypriots dote their children and live for the table.  We have several of the finest beaches in the world and I'd say the best sea I've ever had the pleasure to swim in ... so don't think about it just do it!!
