Serena Bay Beach Bar & Restaurant, Pernera

0
An eatery of the highest esteem, I love the crazy paved terrace, shaded by tall mature trees, that twinkle delightfully as the sun sets, the crazy colourful tables and chairs, almost kindergarden'ish, little alcoves of comfy seating, hammocks set up high in the trees, whilst down a tier, skirting the rocks, a pathway leading to the almost private beach on the left, that'll have mellow music and waiter service and there's plenty of sunbeds, all with a view to die for, a sea of serenity at Sirena Bay ...

I recently caught up with Savvas, who, in my book, is one of the old school, around since before Napa became the clubbing capital of Europe.  He told me, "I got on my first motorbike when I was 12, and opened this bike rentals in 1992.  Over a lovely coffee, Savvas said, "We were renting out mostly those little 50cc bikes.  When Cyprus joined Europe in 2004, Quad Bikes and Buggies started flooding the rental market, so I launched, what became an excellent Quad Buggy Safari in 2012 ... Little Panda Chinese Restaurant & Sushi Bar, Ayia Napa

With over 40 years experience in catering, it shows through, in the way Spiros has created his menus, he explained; "it’s my hobby to find new authentic recipes on the net, then I cook them, taste them, and I invite my chefs to taste, and if we all agree, the dish becomes a 'Special of the Day', until eventually it gets added to one of our menus!" … brilliant!

I love this place, the sounds of gears and links chinking, smothered by fair ground music, the smell of candy floss and bbq corn on the cob, the multi coloured lights and occasional girly screams. It's really cool idea coz you just buy a Wrist Band depending on your ages and what you want to do!

Ed’s Note October 2026

0
It’s October already, that went quick!  and it really is one of my favourite months!  Partly because that long hot summer is definitely over, or is it? … I asked the fishermen and they said it might not rain again ‘til mid-November, with temperatures still up in the 30°C’s, as we enter October, that’s about 90°F in English.  Just as we predicted back in May, it looks like we’re going to have another Indian summer and we’ll still be going to the beach in December, Mmm, don’t you just love Cyprus!
