This amazing duet arrived early, togged up to the nine's in protective gear and scared the living daylights out of my neighbours, I had to go and explain ... I was delighted to be invited to catch Bill and Ems, aka Dejavu, playing live at Lithos Bar & Grill in Larnaca.  On that night they were joined by Andreas, their drummer, and as a trio, they go by the name 'Strings Attached'  I really loved this gig so much, especially their covers of Fever, and Hotel California, so I grabbed the chance to ask Bill if we could get together for a chat.

... But tbh, The Square Bar is better known for their Live Music, every night from 8.30 pm 'til late.  That's mostly down to Peter and Rob, of the legendary 'Live Lounge' in Cardiff fame, who told me "We partnered up with Panicos in 2014 to bring you the very best in live bands, duo and solo artists" ... Footloose Karaoke and Sports Bar, Ayia Napa

0
It's on the corner of the entrance to Bar street, and btw, it's one of the oldest bars in Napa!  Hosts Andreas and Karina, are completely 'down to earth' and absolutely love their pub and have continued it's 30 year tradition by being one of the only bars that stay open all year.  Joining the crew recently Kevin of Three Lions Pub fame is bringing the pub grub menu to another level.  Naturally it's a favourite with locals and long stay workers and of course they look after everyone that wants to join them, tbh, it's one big happy family here, and quite unique!

Fat Mama’s Italian American Diner, Kato Paphos

Fat Mama’s is one of those special places that’s so good you’ll just keep going back, so naturally after 25 years it gets really busy every night with bookings not accepted after 7 pm, but don’t worry, if you have to wait to be seated you can enjoy a drink from a well-stocked bar.  Mixing one of my favourite Mojitos or try one of their intoxicating cocktails, and at 2 for the price of 1 during happy hours!

Savino Rock Bar, Larnaca

0
Still one of the oldest, most classic and much loved pubs in Larnaca, after over 30 years ... the décor, all wood, prints and rock memorabilia everywhere, the courtyard out back all traditional and delightful. It's Cypriot, Rock hospitality, all the way!  with music ranging from Classic Rock to Jazz and Rhythm & Blues, and even occasionally, a little Reggae ... I just love this pub!

Potamos Fish Restaurant, Liopetri

0
It's a picturesque setting, with the restaurant literally on the riverbank, overlooking the fishing shelter, on the estuary of the Liopetri River aka 'Potamos', with stunning views stretching all the way to Cape Greko.  Inside, traditional, comfortable seating, fresh fish fridges, old photos on walls, and outside on the terrace with decking, where their two fishing boats are docked, seating for around 150 diners, lined with umbrellas for a little shade, and with the sea just a few metres away. you couldn't find a more perfect setting to eat fish!  btw, Haris and Margaritas' grandfather Nicolas opened this delightful beachside location in Potamos 50 years ago, so all the local fishermen could enjoy their days' catch, and btw, they still do.

Parko Paliatso Luna Park, Ayia Napa

0
I love this place, the sounds of gears and links chinking, smothered by fair ground music, the smell of candy floss and bbq corn on the cob, the multi coloured lights and occasional girly screams. It's really cool idea coz you just buy a Wrist Band depending on your ages and what you want to do!

Ed’s Note October 2026

0
It’s October already, that went quick!  and it really is one of my favourite months!  Partly because that long hot summer is definitely over, or is it? … I asked the fishermen and they said it might not rain again ‘til mid-November, with temperatures still up in the 30°C’s, as we enter October, that’s about 90°F in English.  Just as we predicted back in May, it looks like we’re going to have another Indian summer and we’ll still be going to the beach in December, Mmm, don’t you just love Cyprus!
