Fig Tree Bay Zefkas George & Son Restaurant, Protaras

I was thrilled to finally get a chance to catch up with Zannetos at Fig Tree Bay Zefkas George & Son Restaurant, and I was amazed to learn that the history of Fig Tree Bay actually started here ... This beach, of course, has always been popular with the locals way before tourism really existed. Situated on the far west of Famagusta Bay, where the locals went to get away from it all, in the days when there was absolutely nothing here but sand and a few footprints ... Da Vinci Napiana Italian Restaurant, Ayia Napa

We arrived early, and I just have to say the interior designer made a stunning job, recreating a Gothic feel.  It's comfortable, not too posh, something different, encouraging casual dinning ... the bar, tables and chairs, all bespoke influence, black white and grey, with acute arches adorning the facade of the restaurant; the crew all wear braces, a lovely touch ... I just love all the plants and how they kept the 50 year old tree almost totally covering the garden terrace, for a little alfresco dinning.  Oh, and within minutes we were given the wine and cocktail menu, btw, this impeccable service didn't stop there ...

I love this place, the sounds of gears and links chinking, smothered by fair ground music, the smell of candy floss and bbq corn on the cob, the multi coloured lights and occasional girly screams. It's really cool idea coz you just buy a Wrist Band depending on your ages and what you want to do!

Ed’s Note October 2026

0
It’s October already, that went quick!  and it really is one of my favourite months!  Partly because that long hot summer is definitely over, or is it? … I asked the fishermen and they said it might not rain again ‘til mid-November, with temperatures still up in the 30°C’s, as we enter October, that’s about 90°F in English.  Just as we predicted back in May, it looks like we’re going to have another Indian summer and we’ll still be going to the beach in December, Mmm, don’t you just love Cyprus!
