The Lingo – Basic Course

0
We thought you might appreciate a quick crash course in the basics of the local lingo, which is a sort of slang Greek, aka ‘Horthkatika’ which is basically a village Greek. Moving house can be a very stressful time, likewise moving your business, car, or that prized possession.  Using a professional removals, shipping, and Logistics company will always alleviate those pressures and when it comes to removals, Debbie and Peter Morton personify the word 'professional'. Their reputation is second to none in Cyprus, in fact, to many people, they are the only company they would choose ... currently, that's about 60 families and businesses a week, in fact, we used them when we recently brought over some furniture from Wales, along with 120 Whisky Barrels!

Nicole’s got the Cutting Edge

0
First Nicole measured the distance exactly, then again, "measure twice, cut once" she whispered, a lady of my heart lol ... she carefully twisted the bottle putting a score mark around the base, just where we wanted it.  Then poured boiling hot water from the kettle onto the score on the bottle, and immediately put the bottle under cold running water to provide the stress shock to the glass and 'Ping' the bottoms dropped off ... it looked easy!

Parko Paliatso Luna Park, Ayia Napa

I love this place, the sounds of gears and links chinking, smothered by fair ground music, the smell of candy floss and bbq corn on the cob, the multi coloured lights and occasional girly screams. It's really cool idea coz you just buy a Wrist Band depending on your ages and what you want to do!

Ed’s Note October 2026

0
It’s October already, that went quick!  and it really is one of my favourite months!  Partly because that long hot summer is definitely over, or is it? … I asked the fishermen and they said it might not rain again ‘til mid-November, with temperatures still up in the 30°C’s, as we enter October, that’s about 90°F in English.  Just as we predicted back in May, it looks like we’re going to have another Indian summer and we’ll still be going to the beach in December, Mmm, don’t you just love Cyprus!
