What really makes this bar so special is the ambience, unique in Napa.  It’s many a favourite place to meet to start the night out in Napa, often as not, some just stay all night, 'til the clubs open.  It usually starts off mellow and ends with you dancing and singing your heart out.  The beauty of it is the journey; early in the evening, it feels intimate, almost like a small Irish pub session.  As the night builds, the tempo lifts, the crowd joins in, and suddenly the whole place becomes one big chorus ... I just love the facade and the interior decor is sort of warehouse-like, classy with industrial tones and extra trimmings, pallets hanging from the ceiling, newspaper collages on the pillars, cool lighting and an awesome looking bar with more bottles than you can count ... 11 years later, the massive repeat custom says it all ... and I can't recommend The Malthouse highly enough!

I recently caught up with Savvas, who, in my book, is one of the old school, around since before Napa became the clubbing capital of Europe.  He told me, "I got on my first motorbike when I was 12, and opened this bike rentals in 1992.  Over a lovely coffee, Savvas said, "We were renting out mostly those little 50cc bikes.  When Cyprus joined Europe in 2004, Quad Bikes and Buggies started flooding the rental market, so I launched, what became an excellent Quad Buggy Safari in 2012 ... These days we have over 150 Quads, Buggies, Scooters and Motor Bikes for rent with really cool prices ...

I caught up with Nikos who also owns Blazing Saddles Pub next door, who told me "I opened the Indian Restaurant in 2013 because there wasn't an authentic one in the area.  Then one year later my customers persuaded me that there wasn't a decent Chinese either", and chop-chop it happened!  ... And then, quite recently Nikos again listened to his customers' wishes, and added Thai & Sushi, so as you're in Cyprus, now you might as well 'Meze' it up, Asian style!

This is where they excel, specialising in over 20 different choices of kebabs.  Gyros here is a choice of 4 meats, pork, chicken from Greece, beef and lamb from the UK, each cut into thin slices, layered and seasoned, and set onto big skewers ready to be imported.  Vangelis said, "I spend a little extra, but I get the very best" ... I asked "do you then add a little more seasoning" and he said "there's really no need", tbh, the beef Gyro was probably the best I've ever tasted ...
