I've watched this pub grow since it opened in 1988. It's all dark wood, tables, comfy seats and benches. The whole place is covered in artefacts, flags, posters, blackboards and hundreds of photos added over the years. I'm sure I'm in a few, ha!, in fact, I probably took a few of them too. It's a GastroPub with a cool mix of an international clientele, and of course, the locals in the area, even our nationals who swarm down to the East Coast for a swim on a weekend, and something to eat, and all add to the ever-increasing repeat custom and inevitably, I'd have to say; it's one of the most successful pubs in Cyprus! ... Tbh, the weekends are soooo busy I prefer to go Monday til Thursday, I get more attention 😉

It must be said that the garage was originally opened by dad, Michalis back in 1976 ... so Anninos grew up with greasy hands ... going on to excel in his studies, he's highly qualified with two degrees in Automotive Engineering, the first in Teesside University from 2010 to 2015 whilst working with Mercedes and BMW and later in Nicosia where he enhanced his Diagnostic qualifications ... in 2009 Anninos re-juvenated his fathers garage workshop with all the latest diagnostic testing equipment with just one goal, to be the best tuning garage workshop in Cyprus ... and it looks like he's well on target!

Coming outta Shepherds Bush in London, Chris with over 30 years experience and catering in his blood, followed his father's footsteps and in 2012 he finally sealed the deal to buy the old Banana Cabaret Bar in Kissonerga, better known for its sauciness than its sauces 😉 He named it 'Sonny's, after his son, so I suppose it was inevitable Sonny would join his dad sooner or later, together they make an unbeatable team! ... Serving traditional Cypriot cuisine, or as Artemaki calls it, ''pure horthiaytiko'' or 'village-style' in English. The food is always cooked fresh, mostly over real charcoal, so it'll take at least 20 minutes to be served, but let me just say; it's worth every minute! and don't worry the pitta bread, dips and salads will wet your apatite. Whilst Arimaki's mum cooks traditional Cypriot dishes for your delight!

It's February, I thought January was never gonna end? Now, you just have to love February in Cyprus! It's spring on the island of Aphrodite, our Goddess of Love and there's romance in the air, everywhere, especially on the 14th when we celebrate Valentine’s Day, which this year falls on a Friday so you might as well make love all weekend! ... oh and, I love watching the postman struggle to get all my cards in the little letterbox.
