Fig Tree Bay Zefkas George & Son Restaurant, Protaras

0
I was thrilled to finally get a chance to catch up with Zannetos at Fig Tree Bay Zefkas George & Son Restaurant, and I was amazed to learn that the history of Fig Tree Bay actually started here ... This beach, of course, has always been popular with the locals way before tourism really existed. Situated on the far west of Famagusta Bay, where the locals went to get away from it all, in the days when there was absolutely nothing here but sand and a few footprints ... I just had to ask about any exotic or unusual pets that she’s handled, the list was amazing, including two Red Pandas to India, a Rats and Rabbits to Russia and amazingly 4 Parrots to Thailand. I asked ‘Why take 4 parrots to Thailand, She said, “They were their babies” … I get that! … She continued, “In fact, several relocation companies in Cyprus said it was impossible, and then I was told that I was the only one who said it was possible to do, so I did it”

Andreas installs probably the best sound, light and automation equipment money can buy and to say he's a perfectionist is an understatement ... btw, you've probably been listening to his sound equipment and looking admiringly at his architectural lighting designs without even realising it!  Because, his work is evident in many restaurants, bars, cafes, hotels,  nightclubs, retail outlets, boat cruises and private homes from Paralimni to Paphos and everywhere in between ... Cavo Maris Beach Hotel, Protaras

I've had the pleasure to work closely with this impeccable hotel since 1993.  To be honest if you ever stay here, there's a very good chance you'll go back!  I think its because it's still a family run hotel, with many of their staff staying long enough to be family and its without a doubt regarded as one of Cyprus's finest hotels.  In fact, they were recently awarded a Trip Advisor Travelers' Choice Award for 2021 to add to an ever increasing impressive list of awards over the years.

Parko Paliatso Luna Park, Ayia Napa

I love this place, the sounds of gears and links chinking, smothered by fair ground music, the smell of candy floss and bbq corn on the cob, the multi coloured lights and occasional girly screams. It's really cool idea coz you just buy a Wrist Band depending on your ages and what you want to do!

Ed’s Note October 2026

0
It’s October already, that went quick!  and it really is one of my favourite months!  Partly because that long hot summer is definitely over, or is it? … I asked the fishermen and they said it might not rain again ‘til mid-November, with temperatures still up in the 30°C’s, as we enter October, that’s about 90°F in English.  Just as we predicted back in May, it looks like we’re going to have another Indian summer and we’ll still be going to the beach in December, Mmm, don’t you just love Cyprus!
