Lordos Group of Hotels, Larnaca & Protaras

0
I am delighted to introduce you to The Lordos Group of Hotels as I've worked closely with their 3 hotels and indeed the Lordos family since 1993.  They are without a doubt one of Cyprus' leading companies and their 3 hotels certainly excel when it comes to location, comfort, and hospitality.  Each hotel with its own specific features, each hotel unique in its own way, all ideally situated in perfect locations, pretty much, right on the beach!

My Pet Groom at Pet Galaxy, Paralimni

0
New Era starts as the latest member to join this ever-growing team as the company's resident groomer is Maria Modestou, so I booked Bandit in for a shampoo and trim so that I could have a quick chat ... I asked Maria how she got into pet grooming.  She said, "I was born and raised in Xylophagou and grew up with lots of dogs in the family.  I love dogs, and decided to learn how to groom them properly to start my own business" ...

Rialto Theatre, Limassol

0
Standing proud at the top of Hero's Square, right in the heart of Limassol, a place where people gather, in days of old a mix of Greek and Turkish Cypriots, apparently once a red light district, now a mix of popular stylish bar's and eateries, and as the decline of cinema in the 80's inspired the new Rialto Theatre, that launched in 1999 and helped to develop the area into a hive of activities, cultural or not!

The Lingo: Excuses aka Mañana

0
We thought you might appreciate a quick crash course in the basics of the local lingo, which is a sort of slang Greek, aka ‘Horthkatika’ which is basically a village Greek. Most of the locals speak English but they love it if you make an effort to speak their language. I do it in English phonetics so just read in English … Simples! … oh and don’t take it too seriously …

We’re excited to be the first to announce that fresh and dried Carolina Reaper Peppers are ready to be grown in Cyprus.  So get ready to meet the king of heat, and trust me, they’re not for the faint-hearted.  But, in Cyprus, these super hot peppers will also be blended with extra virgin olive oil to create 'PowerJuice', so I caught up with owner and pioneer Vasillies of Larnaca Park & Fly fame to find out more ...

To Steki tou Boss, Paralimni

0
To Steki tou Boss, in the heart of Paralimni is an authentic Cypriot Taverna, offering that 'Home from Home' feeling! Inside the décor, in one part designer influenced bespoke wooden tables and chairs made really comfy, patchwork high stools up at the bar, blended with cafe-style seating, lots of wood, village artefacts everywhere, plants and really cool lighting. The menu is a tick list of what's in the kitchen so you create your own meze, 3 of those, 2 of these, none of them etc ... just brilliant .... Highly recommended ... This is, without doubt, one of Paphos' finest eateries ... It's a traditional Irish Bar, so authentic all the furniture was crafted in Ireland an imported over, lots of dark warm wood, benches and stools, cottage cabinets and red brick. There's plenty of room inside, a nice covered smoking room and a lovely breezy sun terrace out front with comfortable seating, and the pub grub just a tad above the rest ... it's just like you've walked into a bar in Dublin, only a bit warmer!

The Stumble Inn, Ayia Napa

0
The place looks traditionally British, well, it's on a corner for starters, but these days it's got a European twist as lots of their repeat clients are from various parts of Europe, particularly Scandinavia.  There's a covered terrace all the way around, the décor; lots of wood, comfy benches, colourful tables, low or high ... a row of tall red stools surrounding the bar, oh and blackboards everywhere and the host oozes hospitality ...

Add stuff like; Licensing hours currently ‘til 2.30 am, and then, of course, our night clubs will take you through to sunrise, not too good for the tan unless you go straight to the beach after a good night out, speaking by experience 😉

Parko Paliatso Luna Park, Ayia Napa

0
I love this place, the sounds of gears and links chinking, smothered by fair ground music, the smell of candy floss and bbq corn on the cob, the multi coloured lights and occasional girly screams. It's really cool idea coz you just buy a Wrist Band depending on your ages and what you want to do!

Ed’s Note October 2026

0
It’s October already, that went quick!  and it really is one of my favourite months!  Partly because that long hot summer is definitely over, or is it? … I asked the fishermen and they said it might not rain again ‘til mid-November, with temperatures still up in the 30°C’s, as we enter October, that’s about 90°F in English.  Just as we predicted back in May, it looks like we’re going to have another Indian summer and we’ll still be going to the beach in December, Mmm, don’t you just love Cyprus!
