Fig Tree Bay Zefkas George & Son Restaurant, Protaras

0
I was thrilled to finally get a chance to catch up with Zannetos at Fig Tree Bay Zefkas George & Son Restaurant, and I was amazed to learn that the history of Fig Tree Bay actually started here ... This beach, of course, has always been popular with the locals way before tourism really existed. Situated on the far west of Famagusta Bay, where the locals went to get away from it all, in the days when there was absolutely nothing here but sand and a few footprints ... Standing tall and proud on the left of Ayia Napa Harbour is the biggest, most stunning, luxurious yacht on the quay, and we were invited by my very good friend Mike for their Sunset Cruise.  We recently made it on board and I must say, my first impressions were, wow! This boat is definitely the most luxurious yacht on the harbour!

Knights GastroPub, Pernera Area, Protaras

0
I've watched this pub grow since it opened in 1988.  It's all dark wood, tables, comfy seats and benches.  The whole place is covered in artefacts, flags, posters, blackboards and hundreds of photos added over the years.  I'm sure I'm in a few, ha!, in fact, I probably took a few of them too.  It's a GastroPub with a cool mix of an international clientele, and of course, the locals in the area, even our nationals who swarm down to the East Coast for a swim on a weekend, and something to eat, and all add to the ever-increasing repeat custom and inevitably, I'd have to say; it's one of the most successful pubs in Cyprus! ... Tbh, the weekends are soooo busy I prefer to go Monday til Thursday, I get more attention 😉

I love this place, the sounds of gears and links chinking, smothered by fair ground music, the smell of candy floss and bbq corn on the cob, the multi coloured lights and occasional girly screams. It's really cool idea coz you just buy a Wrist Band depending on your ages and what you want to do!

Ed’s Note October 2026

0
It’s October already, that went quick!  and it really is one of my favourite months!  Partly because that long hot summer is definitely over, or is it? … I asked the fishermen and they said it might not rain again ‘til mid-November, with temperatures still up in the 30°C’s, as we enter October, that’s about 90°F in English.  Just as we predicted back in May, it looks like we’re going to have another Indian summer and we’ll still be going to the beach in December, Mmm, don’t you just love Cyprus!
