Ayia Napa

Knights GastroPub, Pernera Area, Protaras

0
I've watched this pub grow since it opened in 1988.  It's all dark wood, tables, comfy seats and benches.  The whole place is covered in artefacts, flags, posters, blackboards and hundreds of photos added over the years.  I'm sure I'm in a few, ha!, in fact, I probably took a few of them too.  It's a GastroPub with a cool mix of an international clientele, and of course, the locals in the area, even our nationals who swarm down to the East Coast for a swim on a weekend, and something to eat, and all add to the ever-increasing repeat custom and inevitably, I'd have to say; it's one of the most successful pubs in Cyprus! ... Tbh, the weekends are soooo busy I prefer to go Monday til Thursday, I get more attention 😉

Octopus Craft Beer by Octo Microbrewery, Sotira

0
I asked why their beers are so good;  Taras explained, "The biggest difference of Craft Beer is it has more flavour and taste, mainly because it's not filtered or pasteurised, making it a much richer flavour.  Craft Beer is like a finger print because we never brew our beer in a bad mood, that's how we are here at Octo and we hope you are just like us" …

Begafigo Paddle Boarding Club, Ayia Triada, Paralimni

0
What makes Begafigo so special is its ideal location.  Ayia Triada, aka Trinity Beach, offers fine golden white sand, clear shallow waters, often as calm as a millpond, next to a scenic fishing harbour and the iconic, tiny, blue‑and‑white church, and as luck would have it, the launch of Tulum Beach Bar right next door was a blessing in disguise!

Savvas Louka Quad, Bike & Buggy Rentals, Ayia Napa

I recently caught up with Savvas, who, in my book, is one of the old school, around since before Napa became the clubbing capital of Europe.  He told me, "I got on my first motorbike when I was 12, and opened this bike rentals in 1992.  Over a lovely coffee, Savvas said, "We were renting out mostly those little 50cc bikes.  When Cyprus joined Europe in 2004, Quad Bikes and Buggies started flooding the rental market, so I launched, what became an excellent Quad Buggy Safari in 2012 ... This Tex Mex Restaurant and Bar starts off brilliant as you walk through under the arch, welcomed by an awesome crew and ends up delightful as you leave.  The decoration is themed to the Wild Wild West ... all wooden and ranch style with cacti everywhere, and things like the sheriff's office and the real jail ... to lock up your kids while you eat 😉 Inside the gates its al fresco style with a retractable roof so you'll dine under the stars.

Parko Paliatso Luna Park, Ayia Napa

0
I love this place, the sounds of gears and links chinking, smothered by fair ground music, the smell of candy floss and bbq corn on the cob, the multi coloured lights and occasional girly screams. It's really cool idea coz you just buy a Wrist Band depending on your ages and what you want to do!

Ed’s Note October 2026

0
It’s October already, that went quick!  and it really is one of my favourite months!  Partly because that long hot summer is definitely over, or is it? … I asked the fishermen and they said it might not rain again ‘til mid-November, with temperatures still up in the 30°C’s, as we enter October, that’s about 90°F in English.  Just as we predicted back in May, it looks like we’re going to have another Indian summer and we’ll still be going to the beach in December, Mmm, don’t you just love Cyprus!
