George showed me around the grounds explaining; "You can learn so much about marine life here, and rivers and swamps and the Penguins, the first ever in the Mediterranean region, naturally kept comfortable in the appropriate climate controlled environment". Just watching one of their videos I amazingly learned that all Gold Fish don't have stomachs, so they have to keep eating, which means you should feed them small amounts 5 times a day, probably why I was never successful keeping one, but now I know!

I was recently very comforted to find such an extraordinary piece of diagnostic equipment at the Ikesios MRI Centre in the Paralimni area of Ammohostos. This Siemens Magnetom Espree 1.5 T MRI Machine, is the very best in Magnetic Resonance Imaging, is trusted all over the world, and is unique in Cyprus. It's also the 1st Open Bowl MRI in the Paralimni area with the biggest capacity in Cyprus, with a scan length of only 125cm and an internal diameter of 70 cm, allowing about 60% Head Out examinations, and accommodating a person up to 200 kg in weight, which eliminates any claustrophobic feeling.

I've heard that story so many times! ... but tbh, these guys have just blended in like they've been here forever ... Out front a comfortable covered terrace, high tables, and stools, and over on the benches a big cuddly teddy bear with an Amarilino Yellow kit on. Just inside, more high stools around a high table, visually supported by an old baker's bicycle, and three high chairs looking into the window bar. Inside its modern, quirky little areas, sofas, Alice in Wonderland style highbacked chairs, and a cool selfie mirror adorned with greenery and flowers and on the back wall, 'Amarilino Makes Me Smile', it made me smile!

To be honest if you'd asked me if I'd ever move to Cyprus in 1992 I'd have laughed at you but we stopped looking for excuses and decided to give it a go, moved in '93 and never looked back ... We now live in a country with one of the best climates in the world, long hot summers, short mild winters. I believe it's the safest place with under 2 million population. The Cypriots dote their children and live for the table. We have several of the finest beaches in the world and I'd say the best sea I've ever had the pleasure to swim in ... so don't think about it just do it!!

It's February, I thought January was never gonna end? Now, you just have to love February in Cyprus! It's spring on the island of Aphrodite, our Goddess of Love and there's romance in the air, everywhere, especially on the 14th when we celebrate Valentine’s Day, which this year falls on a Friday so you might as well make love all weekend! ... oh and, I love watching the postman struggle to get all my cards in the little letterbox.
