Savvas Louka Quad, Bike & Buggy Rentals, Ayia Napa

I recently caught up with Savvas, who, in my book, is one of the old school, around since before Napa became the clubbing capital of Europe.  He told me, "I got on my first motorbike when I was 12, and opened this bike rentals in 1992.  Over a lovely coffee, Savvas said, "We were renting out mostly those little 50cc bikes.  When Cyprus joined Europe in 2004, Quad Bikes and Buggies started flooding the rental market, so I launched, what became an excellent Quad Buggy Safari in 2012 ... I asked Marios @ Andria Steak & Seafood Restaurant, in Coral Bay, Paphos what's their secret behind their success?  He said "it's down to the quality of our ingredients, everything is fresh daily and cooked to order, and to us, presentation is an art" ... I have to say it's impeccable!  Marios continued; "to cook a good steak you first have to buy a good steak, and that's exactly what we do, importing the finest Black Angus Beef and the freshest seafood caught daily by local fishermen" ... I highly recommend a visit and I just know you'll go back ... Click on the Article for a Map and More ...

Gold Temple, Asian, Thai & Sushi Restaurant, Coral Bay, Paphos

I caught up with Nikos who also owns Blazing Saddles Pub next door, who told me "I opened the Indian Restaurant in 2013 because there wasn't an authentic one in the area.  Then one year later my customers persuaded me that there wasn't a decent Chinese either", and chop-chop it happened!  ... And then, quite recently Nikos again listened to his customers' wishes, and added Thai & Sushi, so as you're in Cyprus, now you might as well 'Meze' it up, Asian style!

Parko Paliatso Luna Park, Ayia Napa

I love this place, the sounds of gears and links chinking, smothered by fair ground music, the smell of candy floss and bbq corn on the cob, the multi coloured lights and occasional girly screams. It's really cool idea coz you just buy a Wrist Band depending on your ages and what you want to do!

Ed’s Note October 2026

0
It’s October already, that went quick!  and it really is one of my favourite months!  Partly because that long hot summer is definitely over, or is it? … I asked the fishermen and they said it might not rain again ‘til mid-November, with temperatures still up in the 30°C’s, as we enter October, that’s about 90°F in English.  Just as we predicted back in May, it looks like we’re going to have another Indian summer and we’ll still be going to the beach in December, Mmm, don’t you just love Cyprus!
