Over a delicious coffee, and my little chat with head Chef and partner Maria, it became blatantly obvious why this restaurant has won the 'Best Fish Restaurant' in the 'Time Out' and 'Check In Cyprus' Eating Out Awards three times in the past decade ... One of the most impressive features of the Amathus Ruins is the Temple of Aphrodite, which I believe, was excavated in the 1980s.  The temple was a center of worship for the goddess of love and beauty and was believed to have been built in the 6th century BC.  The temple was adorned with beautiful sculptures and frescoes, many of which can still be seen today.

Coming outta Shepherds Bush in London, Chris with over 30 years experience and catering in his blood, followed his father's footsteps and in 2012 he finally sealed the deal to buy the old Banana Cabaret Bar in Kissonerga, better known for its sauciness than its sauces 😉  He named it 'Sonny's, after his son, so I suppose it was inevitable Sonny would join his dad sooner or later, together they make an unbeatable team! ... I was delighted to be invited to 'Play 4 All' to catch up with owner Lucas Polycarpou and I have to say, I had no idea just how much they do here, with 6 Full Size Bowling Alleys, a Children's Play Room, called 'The Jungle' and a fully fitted club style party room called 'La Mour' for up to 150 of your friends.  There's also a restaurant with a top chef presenting a full a' la carte menu and that's just for starters, excuse the pun … oh and, a few big screen TV's so you can just pop in for a drink to watch all the live sports and the footie! … So it really is a fun place for kids, and grown ups!

What really makes this bar so special is the ambience, unique in Napa.  It’s many a favourite place to meet to start the night out in Napa, often as not, some just stay all night, 'til the clubs open.  It usually starts off mellow and ends with you dancing and singing your heart out.  The beauty of it is the journey; early in the evening, it feels intimate, almost like a small Irish pub session.  As the night builds, the tempo lifts, the crowd joins in, and suddenly the whole place becomes one big chorus ... Just brilliant!

But tbh, The Square Bar is better known for their Live Music, every night from 8.30 pm 'til late.  That's mostly down to Peter and Rob, of the legendary 'Live Lounge' in Cardiff fame, who told me "We partnered up with Panicos in 2014 to bring you the very best in live bands, duo and solo artists" ...
