I recently caught up with Savvas, who, in my book, is one of the old school, around since before Napa became the clubbing capital of Europe.  He told me, "I got on my first motorbike when I was 12, and opened this bike rentals in 1992.  Over a lovely coffee, Savvas said, "We were renting out mostly those little 50cc bikes.  When Cyprus joined Europe in 2004, Quad Bikes and Buggies started flooding the rental market, so I launched, what became an excellent Quad Buggy Safari in 2012 ... ... the stage was ready, shady areas covered in tarpaulin and blossom and seats set in rows for a change making the play area busier ... a few sound checks, early birds arriving for the best seats and as it got darker, Socrates clicked the lights on, then the sound of sax warmed our souls, there was a good number in the crowd, much as it's more of a family reunion, returning for the annual event, many times, everyone as always loving the vibe!

Ed’s Note October 2026

It’s October already, that went quick!  and it really is one of my favourite months!  Partly because that long hot summer is definitely over, or is it? … I asked the fishermen and they said it might not rain again ‘til mid-November, with temperatures still up in the 30°C’s, as we enter October, that’s about 90°F in English.  Just as we predicted back in May, it looks like we’re going to have another Indian summer and we’ll still be going to the beach in December, Mmm, don’t you just love Cyprus!
