Antigoni Markou Christofi, Advocate & Legal Consultant, Paralimni

I was trying to find out a bit more about the rules and red tape of residents from the UK and third-world countries moving to Cyprus and was highly recommended to meet Antigoni.  It was the greatest of pleasures to meet up with Antigoni, who I quickly realised is one of those people who has an extreme passion for her chosen career.

Times have changed as far as the fascia goes, but for the past 28 years, the service is still exemplary and the cuisine is as traditional as it gets.  It's a family-run restaurant, from Luigi's warm welcome to the homemade Cypriot specialties using mum's secret recipes and the lovely touch of complimentary seasonal fruit, grown in dad's orchard, that they'll bring to your table for afters.

Da Vinci Napiana Italian Restaurant, Ayia Napa

We arrived early, and I just have to say the interior designer made a stunning job, recreating a Gothic feel.  It's comfortable, not too posh, something different, encouraging casual dinning ... the bar, tables and chairs, all bespoke influence, black white and grey, with acute arches adorning the facade of the restaurant; the crew all wear braces, a lovely touch ... I just love all the plants and how they kept the 50 year old tree almost totally covering the garden terrace, for a little alfresco dinning.  Oh, and within minutes we were given the wine and cocktail menu, btw, this impeccable service didn't stop there ...

Over a delicious coffee, Chris said, ''we just came on holiday, decided to move, and pretty much bought the pub straight away", ha! I've heard that story so many times! ... but tbh, these guys have just blended in like they've been here forever ... I love this place, the sounds of gears and links chinking, smothered by fair ground music, the smell of candy floss and bbq corn on the cob, the multi coloured lights and occasional girly screams. It's really cool idea coz you just buy a Wrist Band depending on your ages and what you want to do!

Ed’s Note October 2026

0
It’s October already, that went quick!  and it really is one of my favourite months!  Partly because that long hot summer is definitely over, or is it? … I asked the fishermen and they said it might not rain again ‘til mid-November, with temperatures still up in the 30°C’s, as we enter October, that’s about 90°F in English.  Just as we predicted back in May, it looks like we’re going to have another Indian summer and we’ll still be going to the beach in December, Mmm, don’t you just love Cyprus!
