For the third year running it was the opening party of The Cyprus Rocks Festival at Aeyialos Beach Bar and Restaurant, in Protaras, just after the Thomas Cook collapse yet there were hundreds of traveling classic rock fans, joined by almost as many locals, enjoying the start of what was gonna be the best festival ever

I had a good look around the shop, it's well laid out, shelving and racks of plumbing accessories, with samples clipped to the racks, divided by displays of tools, and an abundance of brass all over the place.  They stock pretty much everything you'll need to sort out your plumbing needs, heating, cooling, pumps, tools for plumbing and air conditioning, copper pipes and fittings, taps, mixer taps, and showers.  I just have to say, 'whenever I go here, I just take a photo of what I want to fix or do, and they give me exactly what I need to do it!'

I wanted to have a chat before Andreas gave me a personal tour of the museum, so we met upstairs in the cafe and ice cream parlour, my delicious cappuccino brewed with 'Vittorio Coffee' pure Arabica from Brazil.  I asked Andreas to tell me how it all started?  He said, "It started as a hobby, I would find old cars, in Cyprus, mostly Fords, buy them and restore them myself, to showroom perfection, sometimes having to source spare parts from all over the world.  Then he said, " Next thing you know, whenever my friends were selling a vintage or classic car, I would buy it".

It's all sort of lean-to-Tikki-style shack on the beach, all wood and lots of bamboo ... out front the aroma of freshly watered lush green grass lawns, a beach volleyball court, and outdoor seaview massage booths.  A gorgeous spacious veranda, covered with bamboo, creates delightful shaded patterns to enjoy your stay, with stunning sea views over Pernera Bay.  I love stuff like; Speis' handmade crisps shelf and the colourful signage on the wooden rails that run down the side of the cafe ... Ed’s Note October 2026

It’s October already, that went quick!  and it really is one of my favourite months!  Partly because that long hot summer is definitely over, or is it? … I asked the fishermen and they said it might not rain again ‘til mid-November, with temperatures still up in the 30°C’s, as we enter October, that’s about 90°F in English.  Just as we predicted back in May, it looks like we’re going to have another Indian summer and we’ll still be going to the beach in December, Mmm, don’t you just love Cyprus!
