Mr. Tzatziki Snack Bar, Ayia Napa

Specialising in Pork or Chicken Souvlaki cooked over real charcoal nice and slowly … They’re getting good vibes about their Gyros made with pork, beef, lamb or chicken using the family recipe, marinated for two days before being slow cooked on the Rotisserie … served in Greek or Cypriot Pitta Bread, topped with salad and a selection of sauces … but I must say the Pork Steak in a Bun is delicious! …

Protopapas Food Station, Ayia Napa

In 2019, they improved the showroom so that their clients can visit and they could expand their retail side of the business, at wholesale prices .  Here you'll find an extensive selection of Frozen and processed foods and their condiments and much as it's very slightly off the beaten track, let me assure you its worth a visit.

Party City, Cyprus

I can safely say that Party City Cyprus is one of the most prominent event planning and party services providers in Cyprus, offering a full spectrum of solutions for celebrations ranging from intimate gatherings to large-scale weddings and corporate events.  Based primarily in Nicosia, the company has established itself as a “one-stop destination” for event organisation, combining creativity, logistics, and hospitality under one brand.  Oh, and their flexible pricing and service levels make it accessible to both budget-conscious and premium clients.

The Great Escape

To be honest if you'd asked me if I'd ever move to Cyprus in 1992 I'd have laughed at you but we stopped looking for excuses and decided to give it a go, moved in '93 and never looked back ... We now live in a country with one of the best climates in the world, long hot summers, short mild winters.  I believe it's the safest place with under 2 million population.  The Cypriots dote their children and live for the table.  We have several of the finest beaches in the world and I'd say the best sea I've ever had the pleasure to swim in ... so don't think about it just do it!!

Amathus Ruins, Limassol, Circa.10th Century BC

0
One of the most impressive features of the Amathus Ruins is the Temple of Aphrodite, which I believe, was excavated in the 1980s.  The temple was a center of worship for the goddess of love and beauty and was believed to have been built in the 6th century BC.  The temple was adorned with beautiful sculptures and frescoes, many of which can still be seen today.

I asked Marios @ Andria Steak & Seafood Restaurant, in Coral Bay, Paphos what's their secret behind their success?  He said "it's down to the quality of our ingredients, everything is fresh daily and cooked to order, and to us, presentation is an art" ... I have to say it's impeccable!  Marios continued; "to cook a good steak you first have to buy a good steak, and that's exactly what we do, importing the finest Black Angus Beef and the freshest seafood caught daily by local fishermen" ... I recently accidentally discovered 'Nai Coffee' on the road from Dherynia to Sotira.  The building is the stunning, old 'Kalograia Taverna', the barn-style staggered apex roof, striking and unusual.  It was the Illy Coffee sign that initially grabbed my attention, and I fancied a coffee, so my curiosity getting the better of me, I just had to pop in ...

Parko Paliatso Luna Park, Ayia Napa

I love this place, the sounds of gears and links chinking, smothered by fair ground music, the smell of candy floss and bbq corn on the cob, the multi coloured lights and occasional girly screams. It's really cool idea coz you just buy a Wrist Band depending on your ages and what you want to do!

Ed’s Note October 2026

0
It’s October already, that went quick!  and it really is one of my favourite months!  Partly because that long hot summer is definitely over, or is it? … I asked the fishermen and they said it might not rain again ‘til mid-November, with temperatures still up in the 30°C’s, as we enter October, that’s about 90°F in English.  Just as we predicted back in May, it looks like we’re going to have another Indian summer and we’ll still be going to the beach in December, Mmm, don’t you just love Cyprus!
