Specialising in Pork or Chicken Souvlaki cooked over real charcoal nice and slowly … They’re getting good vibes about their Gyros made with pork, beef, lamb or chicken using the family recipe, marinated for two days before being slow cooked on the Rotisserie … served in Greek or Cypriot Pitta Bread, topped with salad and a selection of sauces … but I must say the Pork Steak in a Bun is delicious! …

Eliά Backyard Greek Restaurant, Larnaca

Stephanos said; "We got together often, looking for the best place where we could open an authentic Greek Restaurant.  We could have done it in Thessaloniki, but there's lots of Greek Restaurants there, so it was a calculated decision and we chose Larnaca because it reminded us most of Thessaloniki and then of course the weather here in Cyprus had something to do with it"

The place looks so welcoming, a spacious alfresco lounge under vines with comfy sofas and just inside on the covered terrace, tables immaculately set, pristine, polished wine glasses of various sizes ready for a fine selection of wines, inside is lounge, bistro style, clean and shiny, a well stocked bar with stools if you only want wine 😉 and unusually loos on the same floor, so not walking up and down stairs, very cool ! ... Karlina Restaurant Cafe Bar, Paphos

Times have changed as far as the fascia goes, but for the past 28 years, the service is still exemplary and the cuisine is as traditional as it gets.  It's a family-run restaurant, from Luigi's warm welcome to the homemade Cypriot specialties using mum's secret recipes and the lovely touch of complimentary seasonal fruit, grown in dad's orchard, that they'll bring to your table for afters.

Intro - Paralimni - St Georges Church ScanParalimni & Kapparis

To Steki tou Boss, Paralimni

0
To Steki tou Boss, in the heart of Paralimni is an authentic Cypriot Taverna, offering that 'Home from Home' feeling! Inside the décor, in one part designer influenced bespoke wooden tables and chairs made really comfy, patchwork high stools up at the bar, blended with cafe-style seating, lots of wood, village artefacts everywhere, plants and really cool lighting. The menu is a tick list of what's in the kitchen so you create your own meze, 3 of those, 2 of these, none of them etc ... just brilliant .... Highly recommended ... Standing proud at the top of Hero's Square, right in the heart of Limassol, a place where people gather, in days of old a mix of Greek and Turkish Cypriots, apparently once a red light district, now a mix of popular stylish bar's and eateries, and as the decline of cinema in the 80's inspired the new Rialto Theatre, that launched in 1999 and helped to develop the area into a hive of activities, cultural or not!

April 2024

Talking about beaches, Ayia Napa and Protaras on the east coast, boast 2 of the Best Beaches in Europe and tbh, we're blessed with the nicest sea I’ve ever had the pleasure to swim in, in the world ... Add stuff like; Licensing hours currently ‘til 2.30 am, and then, of course, our night clubs will take you through to sunrise, not too good for the tan unless you go straight to the beach after a good night out, speaking by experience 😉

Jungle Float Mobile Water Park, Protaras

Parko Paliatso Luna Park, Ayia Napa

I love this place, the sounds of gears and links chinking, smothered by fair ground music, the smell of candy floss and bbq corn on the cob, the multi coloured lights and occasional girly screams. It's really cool idea coz you just buy a Wrist Band depending on your ages and what you want to do!

Ed’s Note October 2026

0
It’s October already, that went quick!  and it really is one of my favourite months!  Partly because that long hot summer is definitely over, or is it? … I asked the fishermen and they said it might not rain again ‘til mid-November, with temperatures still up in the 30°C’s, as we enter October, that’s about 90°F in English.  Just as we predicted back in May, it looks like we’re going to have another Indian summer and we’ll still be going to the beach in December, Mmm, don’t you just love Cyprus!
