‘Chez Fāina – Fayrous’, Mediterranean Brasserie, Larnaca

0
Fāinā told me "We originally opened a French restaurant in Makarios Avenue, introducing Lebanese cuisine after 2 years, but when we moved our restaurant here we switched to a Lebanese Restaurant with just a few French dishes as our customers were mostly locals.  These days its a more varied international mix as more and more tourists have discovered us.  As the years past, we found more and more of our customers were asking us to cook French cuisine for them".  She laughed and said "ha! but many restaurants cook Frogs Legs, but none can cook them like ours!  And, then she added; just wait til you try our Duck!"

Darcy’s Restaurant & Lounge Bar, Pegeia, Paphos

The place looks so welcoming, a spacious alfresco lounge under vines with comfy sofas and just inside on the covered terrace, tables immaculately set, pristine, polished wine glasses of various sizes ready for a fine selection of wines, inside is lounge, bistro style, clean and shiny, a well stocked bar with stools if you only want wine 😉 and unusually loos on the same floor, so not walking up and down stairs, very cool ! ... Emily has an obvious passion for fashion, much as it was more of a hobby in her early days, somehow it's just evolved, you know, to some people being able to select the right items, designs and colours, comes naturally, but of course matching them together is the art of a stylist ... her selection, wonderful combinations, original designer wear, a touch above the rest, in quality and value and here you'll find fully trained staff with excellent styling abilities!

Speedy Gonzales Mexican Bar & Restaurant, Pernera

0
... let me explain, here the Mexican food isn't hot, it's refreshing, in fact, you can request your selection to your taste, so everyone is happy.  The chef is of course Mexican with over 12 years experience, his specialities are the Burritos, Chimichanga, and an array of Fajitas ... but the menu is huge so you'll find it hard to choose, all served by the drop dead gorgeous scandi crew ... who'll serenade you on your birthday using the kitchen utensils as instruments ... it's just brilliant !

The Mermaid Cruise, Protaras

Following their massive recent refurbishment, the new fully licensed Wine Boutique is looking really cool and still awaiting a few final touches.  Airconditioned to a constant 21°C, the old 'AlcoHall Cava' has matured nicely into 'Wine and More Boutique' because the owners noticed that's what many of their clients were looking for!

Garden Furniture at Rustic Furniture Collection, Paralimni

0
What's so special about these designs, is the hydraulic reclining system added to the designs of these chairs and sunbeds.  Taking a seat on the first set, a 6-seater, dining table, I have to say I was very impressed at how smooth the high-back seat reclined with just a push of the button.

Ed’s Note, September 2026

0
It’s also the season for festivals, markets and events, and September normally brings us a few closing parties, some a little premature, I feel.  There’s still lots happening, and don’t forget to look out for the winter opening parties, theatre, tributes, festivals, and dance events scattered all over the island … follow us on Facebook, and we’ll keep you in touch.

And somewhere in Meneou, there will be clay-sealed clay ovens quietly doing what Cypriot clay ovens do best, for literally hundreds of years ... Making kleftiko ... We’ll see you there – preferably with an appetite.
