To some it must have seemed a crazy idea to invite renowned jazz artists from England to a border area of Cyprus and so far up the West Coast, the Paradise Jazz Festival took off immediately and was loved by the audience from the very beginning, first by the British ex pats of the area, and then then by the musicians from Cyprus, Netherlands, Bulgaria, Greece, Israel, oh and then by all island's nationalities, giving it a truly international image!

Most of the locals speak English but they love it if you make an effort to speak their language. ... Based up on the West Coast, they do play rock but the music mix is much more versatile, everything from Charts, Top 40 and latest releases to Retro and of course all the Classics. Its 24/7 with top presenters live on weekdays between 7 am and 11 pm, when it switches to non stop music. Oh, and you don't have to be on the West Coast to listen, I often listen on line and I live on the east coast, it's a really cool station!

"we were up in the Troodos mountains, letting the dogs taste a little snow, run around and have fun, my friend Garry rented a sled, and while playing with the dogs he just asked me to hand him the leads, and it was amazing, we couldn't believe it, the huskies absolutely loved it, they couldn't wait to pull the sled again and again, wagging their tails and barking to let us let them run ... so we had a purpose built sled specially made for us and now the dogs can do what they do, naturally, and as they loved it so much, I thought why not share this with like minded people".

So, I asked George to tell me about his choice of beef ... and quite amazingly he told me; "We were the first to bring the burger scene to Larnaca. We mated Black Angus steers with our cows at several local farms, which gave birth to more Angus beef and we're now in our 16th generation and naturally, we get our beef fresh from our associated local farms ... ah ha! that's why my burger tasted so good!

Now I know it might sound crazy, but by the end of December up in the Troodos Mountains, you can go skiing or even Husky Sledding in the morning and by the afternoon you can be swimming in The Mediterranean Sea and that’s just one of the reasons why I think this place is Paradise!
