To some it must have seemed a crazy idea to invite renowned jazz artists from England to a border area of Cyprus and so far up the West Coast, the Paradise Jazz Festival took off immediately and was loved by the audience from the very beginning, first by the British ex pats of the area, and then then by the musicians from Cyprus, Netherlands, Bulgaria, Greece, Israel, oh and then by all island's nationalities, giving it a truly international image!

Coming up to their first anniversary in Cyprus I asked Nicola to tell me about the Menu ... Nicola said; "We sort of split it into three cuisines, Fresh Fish, Fresh Sushi, and Vegan Platters & Snacks ... What I really like about them is you don't really know what they are going play each night, coz that depends on the audience ... with some 400 to 500 tracks on their play list, they don't even plan what they're going to play next ... one thing's for sure you'll get a professional show from a group who can play so well together and btw, they can all sing too!

… One of the things I like about this 'Touristic accommodation' is their central position, just 300 metres walk from the square in Ayia Napa. It's a small complex, with only 14 spacious, studio and 1 bedroom apartments with kitchenettes, but no pool, or cafe, but that's not a problem because you're just 50 metres from a mini supermarket, tavernas, bars and amenities and the sea is just a few minutes away.

So, I asked George to tell me about his choice of beef ... and quite amazingly he told me; "We were the first to bring the burger scene to Larnaca. We mated Black Angus steers with our cows at several local farms, which gave birth to more Angus beef and we're now in our 16th generation and naturally, we get our beef fresh from our associated local farms ... ah ha! that's why my burger tasted so good!

Now I know it might sound crazy, but by the end of December up in the Troodos Mountains, you can go skiing or even Husky Sledding in the morning and by the afternoon you can be swimming in The Mediterranean Sea and that’s just one of the reasons why I think this place is Paradise!
